1979 - Bee Gees Swing Us Into the Next Decade

By 1979, the end of another decade, several types of music had emerged.  The Bee Gees enjoyed #1 spots with "Night Fever" in 1978 and "Too Much Heaven".  Everyone scrambled to get on the disco bandwagon, including The Clash and Earth, Wind, and Fire.  The Doobies had their best-selling album ever with "Minute by Minute".  AC/DC, Pink Floyd, and even Donna Summer had huge hits in 1979.

Important Fact:  The ever-popular "YMCA" made the #1 slot in 1979 and continues to be a favorite among many generations today. 

The Rolling Stone named 500 of the greatest songs of all time.  13 songs made the cut in 1979!
