What a year for rock 'n' roll! California surfers, The Beach Boys, hit the charts with "In My Room", and the British Invasion (We'll NEVER Forget This), occurred as The Beatles swept the youth off their feet with "She Loves You", and "I Want to Hold Your Hand". The Rolling Stones got their first hit in 1963 with "Come On", a much more aggressive version of rock. In 1963, the country was devasted by the tragic loss of Patsy Cline, who died in a plane crash in Tennessee.
Important Fact: Many would say that 1963 was the last year of the "Golden Decade" or "Early North American Rock and Roll". Without question, the music changed in mid to late 1963 when The Beatles started rockin' America.
