1969 - Rock Was About to Change AGAIN

By 1969, soft rock and country rock had become popular.  That's not to say that "hard rock" was dead, but American attitudes had softened, and as always, music reflected the overall feel of the country.  Creedence Clearwater Revival was a household name.  The Jackson 5 was about to break out a new style of music.  Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Brown, Carly Simon, Carole King, James Taylor and many others hit the charts in a big way.  The Eagles and The Allman Brothers hit the charts,  and rock and roll of the sixties, as we know it, would soon be history.

Important Fact:  Creedence Clearwater Revival cut six albums of roots-oriented rock and roll between 1968 and 1970.  "Creedence Clearwater Revival", "Bayou Country, "Green River", "Willie and the Poorboys", "Cosmo's Factory", and "Pendulum".
