The American Cancer Society's patient service program, Road to Recovery, is available for residents in Trigg County. The Road To Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer and do not have a ride, or are unable to drive themselves. Local volunteers are trained and screened by the ACS and donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. For more information or to make arrangements for transportation, call 1-800-227-2345. If you are interested in being a Road To Recovery volunteer, contact the same number. December 20, Saturday
2:00 PM - The 2nd Annual Christian County Relay For Life "Celebrate A Life Tree" will be located at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. The holidays are not always joyful for families that have been affected by cancer. The Celebrate A Life Tree allows us to celebrate the lives of our cancer survivors and heroes. Individuals may purchase ornaments in celebration of loved ones. The ornaments are placed on the tree for all to enjoy throughout the holiday season. Similar to the luminaria ceremony, there will be words of encouragement and songs of praise before the names of the honorees are read. Ornaments may be taken home after the ceremony. To purchase ornaments or for more information email Edith Marcum or email Shawn Langston. Get the Order Form Here. See The Event Flyer!
