Christian County Relay For Life 2014 raised approximately $113,000 to aid in the fight against cancer with the American Cancer Society.
The Trigg County Luminaria Committee is selling "Lanterns of Love" to Memorialize your loved one "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of." After the Relay For Life, the Lanterns of Love will be available for those who purchased them. Each Lantern will have a card attached that includes the name of the Individual the Lantern was purchased for and who the Lantern is given by. Kentucky FirstLady Jane Beshear, Kentucky Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker, and the Kentucky Cancer Program are pleased to offer Adventure Weekend 2015 for women survivors of any type of cancer. The weekend is now in its third year and it just gets better and better.
There will only be one weekend in Western Kentucky this year and it is scheduled for May 15 - 17, 2015 at Barren River Lake State Resort Park near Glasgow. The American Cancer Society's patient service program, Road to Recovery, is available for residents in Trigg County. The Road To Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer and do not have a ride, or are unable to drive themselves. Local volunteers are trained and screened by the ACS and donate their time and the use of their cars so that patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need. Learning to Live with Cancer - Meeting Schedule - All meetings will be held at 4:30 PM and programs will begin at 5:00 PM. First Tuesday Meetings each month will be Potluck at the Pennyroyal Center's Community Services Building in Hopkinsville.
