Spring Fling, Artist on Main  is Saturday May 3 from 10-4. Get ready for a day filled with great activities, music and art. Shop on Main Street for fine hand-made & hand-crafted arts, gifts, crafts and unique items. The Farmers Market will be filled with all types of goodies--from fruits, vegetables, plants and baked goods. The 2nd annual Trigg County Amazing Race is at West Cadiz Park from 9-noon. There will be music from three popular local bands on Renaissance Stage throughout the day and the Lakeland Jamboree will offer a special show at 7pm. The Annual Derby Hat Parade is at 1pm sponsored by the Blue Heron. Stop in for the Kentucky Derby Party at the Fox's Den Gallery, Antiques, Gifts and Equestrian Shop. The VFW Post 7890 will hold a Derby Day Party starting at 4:00, with free food, drinks and snacks while you cheer on your Derby pick! And last but not least, the Cadiz Cruz In is from 5-8. Antique and Classic cars will be on display for your enjoyment. Trigg County High School Project Graduation 2014 will host a graduation celebration for approximately 160 TCHS Seniors. This party, known as Project Graduation, will be held on graduation night at Dave & Busters Restaurant in Nashville. The event is a SAFE, CHEMICAL & ALCOHOL-FREE PARTY. School funds are not allowed for this celebrations, thus requiring individual, private and corporate donations. The Pennyrile Allied Community Services Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is offering free tax preparation services to residents of Christian County. The service will be provided at the PACS offices at 1100 South Liberty Street in Hopkinsville, Monday through Wednesday from 8 AM until Noon, through April 15. Anyone is eligible for this service, but priority will be give to individuals who are age 60 and older. Service is by appointment only, call 886-6341.

PACS-RSVP will provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals in Trigg County. Through a grant from the IRS, RSVP volunteers will receive tax training and become IRS-certified to assist individuals with filing simple tax return filings. Priority will be given to seniors in the community. Tax assistance will be located in the rear lower level of John L. Street Library, 244 Main Street, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, through April 15. A new men's handicap match golf league is being started at Arrowhead Golf Course in April. All men regardless of skill level are invited to join. The league will play on Tuesday mornings at 9 AM, beginning April 29th. League dues will be $25 for the annual prize fund, and $2 weekly for closest to the pin and low net pots. League participants are not required to be members of Arrowhead Golf Course, and may pay daily green fees to play in the league.
